The filter captures dirt particles from the pool water. The tank is filled with filter sand / zeolite / filter glass and acts as a permanent dirt trap. When the control valve is in the FILTER position, pool water containing dirt is drawn in through the hose system and automatically pushed into the control valve with its patented filter, and from there into the upper part of the filter tank. The water is then forced through the sand, which removes the dirt, and drained into the lower part of the tank. Via the control valve, the water returns through the hoses back into the pool. The whole process is continuous and automatic, ensuring complete recirculation of the pool water through the filter and hose system.
After a certain period of operation, the dirt accumulated in the filter makes it harder for water to pass through the sand and reduces the flow through the filter unit. This means it is time to clean the filter. When you set the valve lever to the BACKWASH position, the water flow is automatically reversed, so it flows from the bottom of the tank up through the filter sand, flushing the trapped dirt into the waste pipe. Once the filter has been backwashed, set the lever to the RINSE position and run the pump for 30 to 60 seconds. Then return the valve lever to the FILTER position so that normal filtration can resume.
