The pool water is only slightly salty and does not irritate the skin at all. Throughout the season, the unit uses electrolysis to convert salt into free chlorine gas, which then turns back into salt in the pool. At the start of the season you need to add salt to the pool, and after that you have to monitor the water and adjust the unit's settings based on the measured readings.
pH regulators - in a pool you need to keep an eye on both the chlorine level and the pH level. The right pH creates the ideal environment in the water for chlorine to work. If you measure a pH of, say, 8.5 in your pool, you will have to dose twice as much chlorine as you would at the correct pH. When pH and chlorine are off, it leads to unpleasant effects such as stinging eyes, red skin and more. All our pH regulators are automatic (the unit measures the pH itself and, if it changes, brings it back into the normal range). The ideal pH for pool water is between 6.8 and 7.2.
Salt water (semi-automatic) with pH control - this combination goes a long way toward preventing your pool from turning green. This option makes pool maintenance much easier. The automatic unit measures and doses pH. Based on the measured (chlorine) values, you set on the salt chlorinator how intensively it should work (produce chlorine).
Salt water (automatic) with pH and RX control - the salt chlorinator produces chlorine gas, but it cannot tell how much chlorine gas it has produced (see the unit above). That is what the RX probe is for: it measures the redox potential (a value derived from chlorine) and switches the salt chlorinator on and off accordingly. This is a fully automatic system.
UV lamp - a great addition to your water treatment that partially disinfects your pool and so reduces the amount of chlorine needed. It cuts the consumption of chlorine and other chemicals by up to 80%. It also partly eliminates the smell of chlorine and possible skin and eye irritation.
Automatic liquid chemical dosers - these units measure the pH and chlorine in the water and then dose pH adjuster and liquid chlorine accordingly. The most affordable option if you want both values maintained automatically.
